really bad... stay away...

My husband and I went to this restaurant last night for the all you can eat dinner (around $19).

We've eaten at numerous other Japanese restaurants in Greater Vancouver and have never been compelled to write a review until now.

Compared to other Japanese restaurants, the sushi was not up to par. The seaweed on the sushi was tough to chew through (a sign of poor quality seaweed) and the sushi rolls were small and not well filled. As an example, the California roll was stuffed with a small piece of crab meat and avocado, not the traditional California roll where the crab meat is chopped and mixed with mayonnaise, and then generously stuffed into the rice and seaweed.

As for the ambiance, the first thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was the old blue unclean carpet that was in desperate need of an upgrade. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 6pm on a Saturday night. For being the only ones in the restaurant, the service was slow. I had to walk the bill and my credit card over to the cashier to get them to notice that we were ready to leave.

We will not be returning - next time we will go back to the renamed and newly owned "I Love Sushi" on 3rd just off Lonsdale. Better quality sushi with bigger portions and better service.
