I was up on West 10th today and at half twelve came about all peckish. Whilst I wasn’t skimming through ‘Rogue Herrys’ by Hugh Walpole, I did happen upon Sun Sushi, a local fish house. So I decided to curtail my hitherto activities, sallied forth, and infiltrated their place of purveyance to negotiate the vending of some fishy comestibles. Being one who delights in all manifestations of the briny muse, I wasted no time in ordering their $5.99 sushi lunch special!
For those sushi aficionados who are light of purse and find themselves all peckish up on West 10th at lunch time, this will prove to be a worthwhile endeavour. Even though it is not all-you-can-eat, it is worthy of our serious attention.
Sun’s $5.99 lunch special consists of one 6 piece California roll, one 6 piece Tuna roll, one 6 piece Yam roll, starting with nice hot bowl of Miso soup. As it was a very cold and rainy day today, the whole ensemble hit the spot ever so nicely, if I dare say so!
The fine waitress who took my order wasted no time in bringing my hot tea (complimentary) and Miso soup, within perhaps 60 seconds of my being seated. The establishment was about 75% full given that it was a mid-lunch hour visit on a typically wet and cold Vancouver winter day.
With hardly enough time to take a few snaps and check my emails, my lunch was served in front of me to my very much empty stomach and eager eyes! The food was really good. It was freshly prepared, of good quality, very delicious, and excellent value for money.
Most of the tables were occupied so I made myself comfortable at the sushi bar. Any sushi bar is my home away from home, and this was as pleasant as any!
Sun Sushi gets a nice 8 out 10 for the value priced sushi lunch, and I have no hesitation is recommending this sushi den and will certainly return when I am in the area and find myself hungry for a quality lunch. If you decide to go, don’t forget to tell them that Henry from SushiBuffets.com sent you!
